Despite the fact that Arnold Schwarzenegger has just recently turned 70 or that he's one of the leading members of the Republican party who's actively fighting Donald Trump, Schwarzenegger is more adamant than ever that he's not giving up acting.
If anything, he's doubling down on the whole thing and reviving two of his franchises. In an interview with Austrian outlet Kleine Zeitung, Schwarzenegger laid out his work schedule for the next six to eight months, and it's pretty loaded. As per Google Translate, Schwarzenegger is due to "start the shooting on the comedy "Triplets" with Eddie Murphy and Danny DeVito."
"In March next year, I am shooting "Terminator 6", James Cameron and David Ellison are back on board and then comes a "Conan"."
So, just to clean up the direct quotes via Google Translate, that's Triplets next month, Terminator 6 in March and after that, King Conan. Triplets has long been rumoured as Schwarzenegger's next film, but this is the first time it's been confirmed by anyone in the cast. As for Terminator 6, the story there was that Deadpool director Tim Miller was involved, however he's now set for the adaptation of William Gibson's Neuromancer. However, in an interview a few days ago with fan site TheArnoldFans.com, James Cameron talked about Terminator 2: 3D and confirmed that talks were happening regarding a sixth film and a new trilogy, but made no mention of a specific start date.
"We’re talking pretty seriously now about doing some new Terminator films or possibly a trilogy and you’ll just have to see what surfaces in those," said Cameron.
As for King Conan, it's anyone's guess as to what's happening there. John Milius hasn't had any work listed on IMDb since HBO's Rome - unless you count the videogame Homefront, which he wrote and helped co-create - and there's been no official word on the project from anyone other than Schwarzenegger either.
Long story short, expect more Schwarzenegger in the near future.
