Arnold Schwarzenegger has said that he read the script for Shane Black's upcoming reboot of the Predator franchise but wasn't impressed by it.
Schwarzenegger who of course starred in the original film as Dutch Schaefer, the sole human survivor in the movie, said he was offered the chance to be a part of Shane Black's The Predator, but turned it down.
When asked by Yahoo! Movies if he'd have any involvement with the film, the actor said: "They asked me, and I read it, and I didn’t like it — whatever they offered. So I’m not going to do that, no."
Though he did say that he could be persuaded to change his mind.
"Except if there’s a chance that they rewrite it, or make it a more significant role. But the way it is now, no, I won’t do that."
Although he did say he "didn't like it", it is possible that Arnie is only referring specifically to what they had in mind for his character. Whether or not he would have been reprising the role of Dutch or not hasn't been revealed.
The Predator is expected to be set after the first two movies in the series but before the 2010's Predators. Black is writing and directing the film which has Boyd Holbrook, Olivia Munn, Sterling K. Brown, Jacob Tremblay and Keegan Michael Key.
