The trailer for 'Here are the Young Men' has dropped and it's got quite the (mostly non-Irish) cast, including recent Golden Globe winner Anya Taylor-Joy. Accents-wise, it's not quite as much of a sh**show as 'Wild Mountain Thyme' was (which STILL doesn't have an Irish release date, by the way).
Dean Charles Chapman from 'Game of Thrones', Finn Cole (best known for 'Peaky Blinders') and Anya Taylor -Joy ('The Queen's Gambit') lead the cast.
The feature co-stars Emmett J Scanlan ('Peaky Blinders'), Travis Fimmel ('Vikings'), Ferdia Walsh-Peelo ('Sing Street') and Conleth Hill ('Game of Thrones').
The setting is Dublin, the year 2003.
A bunch of aimless, disaffected teens turn to drink, drugs and thrill-seeking one summer.
Love is in the air, as Matthew (Chapman) falls for the free-spirited Jen (Anya Taylor-Joy), and friendships are tested.
An acquaintance leads them into a world of nihilistic violence. As they fall into shocking acts of transgression, their lives will be forever changed.
The movie is based on the book of the same name by Rob Doyle.
Eoin Macken directs, and he penned the screenplay with Doyle.
It was shot on location throughout Ireland's capital. You'll definitely recognise a number of the landmarks in the trailer below.
'Here are the Young Men' arrives on digital platforms from 30th April 2021. It will also hit cinemas when they re-open.
