While she didn't have one of the central roles in 'Ghostbusters', there's no denying that Annie Potts added to the charm of it considerably.
For one thing, that New Yawk accent she had was unparalleled. Not only that, those giant glasses are basically iconic and add to all of that, her way of interacting with Dan Aykroyd and Bill Murray just added to the laid-back humour throughout the movie. The sequel, admittedly, wasn't great - but none of that could be blamed on Potts' performance.
At any rate, with the likes of Sigourney Weaver, Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd all set to return, it now looks like Annie Potts is back to play Janine in the upcoming threequel. According to JoBlo, Potts appears to be back on for it. "I have heard some things. If it’s true, what I’ve heard — yeah, I think it’s gonna happen. I think I will," Potts told the site.
Potts will next appear in 'Toy Story 4', reprising her role as Bo Peep, and has been a cast regular on 'Young Sheldon' as well.
As it stands, the 'Ghostbusters' threequel is set for release on July 10th, 2020.
