Angelina Jolie's latest directing gig, Unbroken, may not have won over the voting panels at this year's Golden Globes or Oscars, but it's become quite the calling card for her nascent directing career.

It's been revealed - by OK! Magazine, of all places - that Jolie has been offered a cool $20 million to direct a Marvel movie for the juggernaut studio franchise.

According to inside sources, Jolie has been tapped to direct Captain Marvel. For those who may be unfamiliar, Captain Marvel is the alter ego of Carol Danvers, a US Air Force pilot who gains superpowers when her DNA is spliced with aliens. Think Captain America, but, y'know, a woman.

Back when Marvel announced their Phase 3 slate, Captain Marvel was tentatively scheduled for July 6th,2018.

As yet, no castings have been announced although the name of Emily Blunt keep cropping up.

So, Jolie directing a Marvel movie? Is out of the realms of possibility? Definitely not.

Marvel are known for making left-of-field choices with their directors and Jolie has stated publicly that she's considering becoming a director full-time.

Whether she'd be the right for a big-budget action blockbuster is another story. Then again, she did star in quite a few of them herself and Unbroken, though not spectacular, had huge box-office returns.

So, what think ye of Angelina Jolie directing a Marvel movie? Sound off in our poll!
