It's not long until we finally get to see Steve Coogan return to the role we all love (to hate) to see him play, the antagonistic Alan Partridge in the upcoming movie Alpha Papa. Having appeared in the likes of I'm Alan Partridge, The Day Today, Knowing Me Knowing You and more, the shock-jock DJ - in all the wrong ways - now finds his Norfolk radio station taken hostage by a disgruntled ex-employee played by Colm Meaney, and unfortunately for those trapped inside, it's up to Partridge to save the day. In celebration of how excited we are to hear all of the new quotes we're sure to be repeating ad nauseum for the rest of the year, here are our five favourite AP quotes to date:

"You make pigs smoke! You feed hamburgers to swans!"
In an interview with a completely pee'd-off farmer's union rep, where he should be apologizing for a previous comment about how they work, instead Alan ends up digging an even deeper hole.

"Dan! DAN!"
Just before he finds out that his new best friend is, in fact, a big fan of swinging (and we don't mean with ropes), he spots him in a carpark and tries to get his attention. Repeatedly.

"Sunday Bloody Sunday… really encapsulates the frustration of a Sunday."
Alan meets with two Irish executives from RTE to discuss a new TV show, but it's not long before he's managed to point out everything that he thinks is wrong with The Emerald Isle. As well as getting everything wrong about U2 songs, the gender of Sinead O Connor and the potato famine.

"That man was plastic…"
Having let himself go a bit, Alan hosts a truly dire road safety video that amounts to little more than footage of car crashes and a lady dressed up as a sexy traffic police woman who giggles mirthlessly at his "jokes".

"Smell my cheese!"
Alan has just been informed that there won't be a second season of his TV show, so the BBC TV executive asks him if he has any other ideas for a new show, and being the creative genius that he is, Alan spouts out a list of them, culminating with "Monkey Tennis".

Alpha Papa hits Irish cinemas on August 7th.
