It was just two days ago that news of Alec Baldwin's involvement in the new 'Joker' origins movie with Joaquin Phoenix was announced - but fans who were excited by the prospect of seeing Baldwin in the role of Thomas Wayne will be disappointed by the latest development.
Baldwin was set to play the role of Bruce Wayne/Batman's father in the Todd Phillips-directed film - joining the likes of the previously-announced Robert De Niro - but last told told USA Today that he was no longer taking part.
"I'm no longer doing that movie," he said, claiming that 'scheduling issues' were preventing him from doing so. He added: "I'm sure there are 25 guys who can play that part."
‘Joker’ will be released on October 4th, 2019.
