If you hit your teenage years between 2000 and, say, 2007 or 2008, there's a definite chance that you either were emo or knew somebody who was emo.
Or, failing that, a Goth. Basically, someone who dressed up in black on a fairly regular basis, listened to Marilyn Manson, Dashboard Confessional, My Chemical Romance or some such, and was prone to writing awful, awful poetry. One person, however, who was not versed on such matters - despite the fact that he's played emo characters in a deeply convincing way - is none other than Adam Driver.
Yes, Adam Driver who played Kylo Ren - probably the most emo character since the younger brother from Wedding Crashers. In a Rolling Stone profile, Driver casually asked what is emo - and Twitter answered.
So Adam Driver is def trolling with this Emo business

adam driver asking what “emo” is, not knowing that the character he plays is the exact definition of the word, is my aesthetic

Adam Driver claiming not to know what emo means is the most emo thing I’ve ever heard.

The last one is too real. Adam Driver *claiming* that he doesn't know what emo is pure emo. If he didn't and he now knows, expect him to turn up at the premiere for The Last Jed in baggy black combat trousers and a silver choker he got in Hot Topic.
