One of the biggest of the slasher flicks of the late '90s and early '00s, I Know What You Did Last Summer looks set to make a comeback.
With a cast that featured only the most really, really ridiculously good looking people (Sarah Michelle Gellar, Ryan Philippe, Freddie Prinze Jr. and Jennifer Love Hewitt), I Know What You Did Last Summer was made on small budget but proved to be a massive hit way back in 1997.
That success is something that Sony Pictures hope to replicate, as it appears that they're getting ready to bring the slasher flick back to our cinema screens with a reboot. According to The Guardian Mike Flanagan and Jeff Howard, who recently had success with Oculus, will be in charge of the remake, while Neil Moritz, who produced the original and was behind the 21 Jump Street franchise, is also set to return.
The remake will be based on the 1973 novel of the same name by Lois Duncan, and while all those slated to be behind the camera have other projects on their plates (Somnia, Peekers and 23 Jump Street), they are planning to prioritise this movie and have it in cinemas by 2016.
