Jason Sudeikis has just bagged himself a humdinger of a role as the titular character in the long-gestating reboot of the Fletch series, says The Hollywood Reporter.
Sudeikis is coming off a huge hit with the comedy, We’re The Millers, while he also had box-office success as part of a strong ensemble in another comedy , Horrible Bosses - a sequel for that is currently in production.
Fletch previously starred Chevy Chase in the height of his comedic powers; playing a sardonic investigative journalist in an adaptation of the novel from the bonce of Gregory McDonald. The new film is described as "more of an origins tale."
Zach Braff and (the criminally underrated) Joshua Jackson were previously in varying stages of attachment to the iconic part - while Ryan Reynolds was linked.
There’s no director as of yet, but when one lands expect this production to move fast. Sudeikis is on a streak.
Sudeikis is also alum of that American comedy institution, Saturday Night Live.
