Four years ago, John Boyega starred as the leader of a gang of hoodies taking on an alien invasion in Attack the Block. Although all of the young actors in the film impressed, Boyega was the one singled out for big things. 

You can't get much bigger than Star Wars and Boyega has been propelled onto the world stage through his role as Finn in the new trilogy. For a lot of people, being propelled from relative unknown to starring in potentially the biggest movie of all time would be quite daunting but Boyega has taken to it like a duck to water. His effortless charm and charisma have endeared him to the fans. 

At the rate he's going, it's only a matter of time before the whole world falls in love with John Boyega and here's five reasons why. 

1. He's very well dressed

With the release of a film of the magnitude of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, there are so many premieres and TV appearances to fulfil and look your best for. So far Boyega has been acing these events with flying colours. Colour being the operative word. Just look at this purple suit!

 

 2. His chat show game is strong

He's been popping up on every chat show from here to Los Angeles in the past month usually accompanied by Daisy Ridley and cast members from the original trilogy. In almost every appearance he's stood out and stole the show.

 3. He genuinely loves Star Wars

Just check out his reaction to seeing the trailer for The Force Awakens for the first time. He's read the script, was there when they shot everything and he still freaks out when he sees the first trailer. 

 

4. He's excellent with the fans

When taking on a role in a movie franchise with as big a following as Star Wars has there is a massive responsibility to be respectful of the material and be a good role model to younger fans. Thus far Boyega seems to be nailing it in this regard. Just look at these instagram posts below from yesterday when Boyega made surprise visits to movie theatres in Brooklyn before and after screenings of The Force Awakens. The post of Boyega shaking hands with a young fan in the front row says it all.

5. He hasn't forgotten where he comes from

Boyega always comes across as very humble. He often references where he grew up in interviews as well as his Nigerian heritage. As he says himself in the post below he was just a kid from Peckham and now he's in the biggest movie franchise in the world. The video below of him and with his mates tells the whole story.
