Yep, you read that right. 21 Jump Street, the Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill starring, gun toting, drug busting remake of the 1980s hit TV show, is getting a sequel, and the newly re-named 21st Century Fox has just confirmed that it will hit cinemas some time in 2014.
When previously asked about a possible sequel, Hill seemed rather sure that it would be happening. He said himself and Channing's real-life friendship was the key to making the first movie such a success too. And James Franco's younger (and in certain members' of this office's eyes, far far prettier) brother Dave Franco has been heard saying he could well be back in action himself, as high school drug dealer Eric Molson.
There's still no update as regards who will be writing or directing the film, but here's hoping Phil Lord and Chris Miller are back at the helm. Sure didn't they do a decent enough job the first time around? We wouldn't mind another Johnny Depp cameo now either.
So much for that break from acting then, eh Channing? We can't say we're too sad to hear you'll be putting that on the back burner now...
