This year marks the 30th anniversary of Predator's US release.
Initially dismissed by critics of the time, it's since become a mainstay of action cinema and further cemented Arnold Schwarzenegger and John McTiernan as leading lights in the genre. That plot, such as it is, sees a group of highly-trained mercenaries sent into the jungles of South America to track a downed helicopter. Before long, it becomes clear that they're not there solely for this purpose and, more pointedly, that something inhuman is hunting them.
