Disney live-action movies are making a mint so it's no big surprise that they're being pushed out in droves. Last year saw the release of 'Christopher Robin'. This year, 'Dumbo', 'The Lion King' and 'Aladdin' all hit theatres.
What began with the box office success of 'Alice in Wonderland' soon led to more Disney live-action remakes. Early attempts included 'Sleeping Beauty' (in 'Maleficent') and 'Cinderella'. 'The Jungle Book' and 'Beauty and the Beast' were particularly big successes for Disney.
Since then, the studio has gone through its back catalogue, pulling from obscure movies like 'Pete's Dragon' and fan favourites like 'Mulan' for inspiration for live-action takes. Can they recreate the magic of watching these films for the first time though?
We're sure this list isn't exhaustive but these are the Disney live-action remakes that have everyone buzzing.
Dumbo, Aladdin and The Lion King hits Irish cinemas on 29 March, 24 May and 19 July of this year, respectively.
