The trailer for romantic comedy 'Wild Mountain Thyme' dropped last night and people are truly appalled.
The film is based on John Patrick Shanley’s play 'Outside Mullingar'. The trailer for 'Wild Mountain Thyme' features Emily Blunt, Jamie Dornan, Jon Hamm and Christopher Walken doing truly dreadful Irish accents.
Yes, somehow, Jamie Dornan's accent is terrible too.
The official synopsis for 'Wild Mountain Thyme' reads: "Conflicts in an Irish family arise when the patriarch threatens to give their farm over to an American nephew as opposed to his own son."
It was filmed in Crossmolina, Co. Mayo, in September 2019. It goes to on demand in the US in December (an Irish release has TBC).
Watch the monstrosity, if you don't believe how awful it is, here:
There have been some hilarious reactions from such official Twitter accounts as TG4's, Dublin Airport and the Leprechaun Museum.

The covid wiped out all of the Irish people in the land, there was literally no one available to play the role of any Irish person ever again #WildMountainThyme https://t.co/MVAmUgyee6

Oh no. Oh no no no no. Emily Blunt, pet, why? Why would you do this? https://t.co/OOJh8VpkuP

Jamie Dornan's Irish accent is the worst Irish accent I have ever heard and he's from Down. How is that even possible? And why does Emily Blunt look like she's from 1849 yet talks about IVF? And it's set in Mullingar? That's not even a real place.

I know this is the least of the issues here. But is Jamie Dornan actually using a Coracle in 2020? #WildMountainThyme pic.twitter.com/QBtJfFThO9

I played the #WildMountainThyme trailer for my wife and a few seconds into it, she said, "I'm going to throw up."
