Thor: Ragnarok has been in production for several weeks already but that hasn't stopped it making a late addition to its cast.
Director Taika Waititi obviously had a great time working with Sam Neill on Hunt for the Wilderpeople because he's roped him into appearing in the Marvel film albeit in a small role.
When quizzed about the role, Neill told Shortlist : “I’m not really allowed to say this and I can’t tell you what it is… I did a couple of days on Thor just before I came over here,” adding how he “had to sign all sorts of things. So if I say anything else, Marvel’s secret agents — and they are lethal — will come and get me and probably my children, as well.”
Neill's role in the film means that there will be a Jurassic Park reunion of sorts as Jeff Goldblum is also among the cast. Whether the pair will have a scene together or not remains to be seen.
Plot details for the film as a whole are thin on the ground but we do know that Mark Ruffalo's Hulk will be involved and Tom Hiddleston is back on board as Loki. The full cast list to date is (deep breath) Chris Hemsworth, Idris Elba, Tom Hiddleston, Mark Ruffalo, Anthony Hopkins, Jeff Goldblum, Tessa Thompson, Cate Blanchett, Karl Urban and Sam Neill.
