Everyone's favourite action star, Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson has been confirmed to be playing the villain Black Adam in the DC Comics film adaption of Shazam,
While we say villain, the character actually comes full circle in the latter comics and becomes more of an antihero, so it's a little easier to see why Johnson didn't go with the hero role of Shazam, He gets to play both sides in a possible series of films.
The Rock is just coming off of a slightly under-performing Hercules, which didn't do the domestic numbers that the studio expected. The man can open a movie, though, and any studio worth their salt will know that.
He also has the 'Fast' and 'Journey' franchises in his pocket which are pretty much guaranteed money makers.
