The first trailer for 'Tolkien' has arrived; and we have our first look at Nicholas Hoult as the infamous fantasy author.
The movie features a very strong Irish cast. Our national treasure Colm Meaney plays Father Francis Morgan; with Patrick Gibson ('The OA'), Genevieve O’Reilly ('Rogue One'), and Laura Donnelly ('Beowolf') and Anthony Boyle ('Derry Girls') among the lineup.
The synopsis for the movie is as follows:
'Tolkien' explores the formative years of the orphaned author as he finds friendship, love and artistic inspiration among a fellow group of outcasts at school. This takes him into the outbreak of World War I, which threatens to tear the “fellowship” apart. All of these experiences would inspire him to write his famous Middle-Earth novels.
'Tolkien' hits cinemas on May 3rd.
