Well, to be fair, it's what they're calling the Skywalker saga - not, y'know, the actual 'Star Wars' saga.
Anyway, the final trailer for 'Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker' has landed online and while it's light on plot points, it's heavy on action. It opens with Daisy Ridley's Rey on some kind of jungle planet doing... training, we're guessing? Definitely, lots of strenuous activity as she jumps and flips her way through foliage before it cuts to the wreckage of what looks like the Death Star and Rey's strenuous activities continue.
You get glimpses of John Boyega's Finn, Oscar Isaac's Poe Dameron, Adam Driver emo-ing it up as Kylo Ren, and in the background, Ian McDiarmid as the Emperor monologuing his way through the trailer. There's also brief shots of Billy Dee Williams back in the metaphorical saddle as Lando Calrissian, Naomi Ackie in the literal saddle as new character Jannah, literal space-horses being rode along the hull of a Star Destroyer, a Star Destroyer swooping up out of ice, and what looks like the Emperor in some kind of weird, floating, life-support engine (we're theorising on the last one).
All in all, lots to take in and lots to pull apart and wildly speculate about. 'Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker' lands in Irish cinemas on December 19th.
