Scarlett Johansson and Disney have settled a breach of contract lawsuit in relation to the actress' pay for 'Black Widow'. According to THR, the terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Both parties have released statements on the settlement. Scarlett Johansson said: "I am happy to have resolved our differences with Disney.
"I’m incredibly proud of the work we’ve done together over the years and have greatly enjoyed my creative relationship with the team.
"I look forward to continuing our collaboration in years to come."
Disney Studios chairman Alan Bergman said: "I’m very pleased that we have been able to come to a mutual agreement with Scarlett Johansson regarding 'Black Widow'.
"We appreciate her contributions to the Marvel Cinematic Universe and look forward to working together on a number of upcoming projects, including Disney’s Tower of Terror."
Last July, the actress sued Disney for breach of contract in relation to her role in 'Black Widow'.
Attorneys for Scarlett Johansson alleged that when the studio opted not to debut the film exclusively in theatres, this resulted in lower ticket sales than expected for the Marvel movie, when much of the star's compensation was tied to its box office performance.
Disney clapped back that the actress had already been paid $20 million.
They released a statement reading: "There is no merit whatsoever to this filing.
"The lawsuit is especially sad and distressing in its callous disregard for the horrific and prolonged global effects of the COVID-19 pandemic."
Fellow Marvel stars like Elizabeth Olsen and Benedict Cumberbatch also had their say on the lawsuit.
