The trailer has dropped for romantic drama 'Ammonite', which sees Saoirse Ronan and Kate Winslet share the big screen for the first time.

Having earned four Oscar nominations across her career, could this be the one that wins Saoirse Ronan the gong?

It helps that her on-screen partner is Academy Award winner Winslet.

Moreover, 'Ammonite' is helmed by Francis Lee, who earned high acclaim for his 2017 debut feature 'God's Own Country'.

Plus the movie comes from studio Neon, who were behind last year's Best Picture winner 'Parasite'.

Winslet plays famed British paleontologist Mary Anning; Ronan is a London woman who is suffering from a recent tragedy and helps Anning in her work.

In spite their very different backgrounds and interests, the pair become friends, until their relationship develops into an all-consuming love affair.

The supporting cast includes Fiona Shaw, James McArdle, Gemma Jones, and 'God’s Own Country' star Alec Secăreanu.

The film will have its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival in September 2020.

It hits US cinemas on November 13, 2020. No Irish release date just yet.
