Someone's stolen Nicolas Cage's pig - and he's pretty darned pissed.
We're getting strong 'John Wick' vibes (minus the action) from this new Nicolas Cage drama movie. In the 'PIG' trailer, which you can see below, a man of the woods is on a mission to find his best friend who has been taken away from him.
Rob (Cage) is a truffle hunter who lives alone in the wilderness of Oregon when his four-legged friend gets taken away from him. After she gets kidnapped, the lone wolf must return to his past in Portland in search of his beloved foraging pig, enlisting the help of a truffle salesman (played by 'Hereditary' and 'Jumanji' actor Alex Wolff). The film also stars Adam Arkin ('Fargo', 'How To Get Away With Murder') as a mysterious man named Darius.
'PIG' looks to be an intense drama movie, written and directed by Michael Sarnoski, and distributed by NEON film studios.
Here's the trailer for the movie.
Speaking on the Variety podcast last year, Alex Wolff said that he and Cage became "best friends" while shooting the movie. He said: "We talk almost every few days. We text all day and he FaceTimed me like two days ago, and we really support each other and help each other with things.
"We started making the movie when we were both going through very similar personal things in our life and we bonded over it immediately and connected and were very emotionally open with each other. We just became best friends."
'The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent' will be Nic Cage's next movie role, which will see him play a fictionalised version of himself. The action/comedy is expected to be released later this year, and also stars Sharon Horgan, Pedro Pascal, Neil Patrick Harris, and Tiffany Haddish.
'PIG' starring Nicolas Cage and Alex Wolff has a release date of July 16 attached to it.
