Consider us invested in this new fantasy comedy series because there's an all-star cast on-board both in front of and behind the camera.
Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Fiona Shaw will join Ryan Reynolds in John Krasinski's as-yet-untitled fantasy/comedy project for Paramount.
Krasinski will also star in the original feature film opposite Reynolds, as previously announced by The Hollywood Reporter earlier this month. The working title for the fantasy is 'Imaginary Friends', and sees Reynolds star as a man who can see and talk to people’s imaginary friends. Befriending the majority of the forgotten beings, it turns out that not all of them are nice, and it's up to him to stop all of the evil imaginary friends from destroying the world. It sounds just far-fetched enough to have all of the makings of a fine comedy.
The film will be Krasinski's next directing and writing gig, following his two mega-horror hits, 'A Quiet Place' parts one and two. Reynolds is also attached to produce the fantasy adventure.
Fiona Shaw, who hails from Cobh in Cork, is set to reprise her role as Carolyn Martens in the upcoming final season of 'Killing Eve' in 2022. The actor also starred in 'Enola Holmes' and 'Ammonite' last year. She will appear in the upcoming 'Andor' series for Disney+ too.
In case you had forgotten, Shaw also appeared in a season two episode of 'Fleabag' as a moisturising-loving therapist. Phoebe Waller-Bridge of course is the creator of the comedy series, and since then she has lent her voice to 'His Dark Materials', helped write the script for 'No Time To Die', and will star in the upcoming 'Indiana Jones 5'.
The fantasy/comedy film is expected to begin shooting during the summer of 2022, with a release date of November 17, 2023.
