Oscar Isaac and Jake Gyllenhaal are set to play two Hollywood legends - director Francis Ford Coppola and producer Robert Evans.
They'll be playing the roles in a film called 'Francis and The Godfather'. It's about the making of Coppola's 1972 masterpiece.
The feature is based on a Black List script by Andrew Farotte.
The screenplay has been redeveloped with Barry Levinson ('Good Morning Vietnam', 'Rain Man'), who is directing the movie also.
It deep dives into the very different takes the then 31-year-old Coppola and movie studio Paramount, headed by Evans, wanted when it came to adapting Mario Puzo's book.
It's been well-documented that the road to making what's widely considered one of the greatest films ever, was long and fraught with conflict.
Coppola wanted to move 'The Godfather' to the expensive setting of New York, in spite of Puzo's script taking Kansas City as its setting.
Moreover, Marlon Brando, when cast, was unpredictable and unreliable, while Al Pacino was an unknown.
Somehow though, they pulled it off.
As Levinson said in a statement: "Out of the madness of production, and against all odds, a classic film happened."
Coppola himself added in a statement: "Any movie that Barry Levinson makes about anything, will be interesting and worthwhile.
Jake Gyllenhaal will next star in a remake of 'The Guilty', directed by Antoine Fuqua for Netflix.
Oscar Isaac meanwhile will next be seen on the big screen (fingers crossed...) in 'Dune'.
