Kevin Hart and Tiffany Haddish’s adult-education comedy is top of the class across the pond.
According to Entertainment Weekly, ‘Night School’ will pull in a cool $28 million for Universal, just slightly behind their $30 million reported target. 3D computer animation ‘Smallfoot’, starring the voices of Channing Tatum, James Corden and LeBron James, came in a close second with $23 million for Warner Bros.
The numbers are comparable to another recent movie with Haddish in the starring role. Last year ‘Girls Trip’ generated just over $31 million.
Equally as funny as Hart’s jokes in ‘Night School’ is his apparent fear of exotic animals. His appearance on Jimmy Fallon last week with Steve Irwin’s son Robert had us in stitches. You can watch it here.
The pair have a very interesting backstory. When Haddish began her career as a stand-up comedian, things were not going well. She was even homeless for a while. You can hear how Hart helped her out here.
‘Night School’ is out in Irish cinemas now.
