While not a heck of a lot of details are currently known about the re-release, it's looking likely that we will be getting two very different 'Deadpool 2' movies in the one year.

'Deadpool 2' has been one of the biggest movies of 2018, there's no denying it. The success of the movie owes a lot to it's 18 certificate, giving Ryan Reynolds and co free reign on the Merc with a Mouth. However, details have been emerging since September that Fox Studios plan on re-releasing the movie to a brand new audience.

Collider are reporting that 'Deadpool 2' will be re-released with a PG-13 (12A for Irish audiences) certificate, and that there have been some reshoots happening of late, and are still happening. They have said that "additional photography is not done on the project.

"From what we heard, the changes being made ensure that even if you saw Deadpool 2 numerous times, the new release will be different enough to get you back into the theatre." That's it Fox, just take our money now.

Writer Paul Warwick confined that new scenes have been shot for the movie. He said "We definitely shot new stuff. And recently too. After Deadpool 2 came out and we were all sitting around, we came to it less about the idea of let’s make a PG-13 movie and more, ‘let’s talk a little bit about 'Deadpool'."

He continued, "We were kicking around some ideas and then I think it was Ryan [Reynolds] who had the great framing device and we all got excited, and went to the studio. They said, ‘Yeah, let’s do it. Fire up the cameras.’ About two months ago we were out on soundstages shooting again. Ryan was in the suit and the gang was back together, Dave Leith [the director] and Ryan and us having a great time and laughing. It comes together great so we’re super excited about it."

Collider also said that the new certificate for the movie is so the studio can finally release 'Deadpool 2' into cinema theatres around China, which originally banned the 18's movie.

So there we have it. No release date set in stone for Ireland yet, but the re-hash is due for release Stateside on December 21st.
