We were HUGE fans of Guardians of the Galaxy and, by all accounts, so were you.

In fact, at last year's Erics, you lot named it the Film of 2014 and James Gunn, the director, was sound enough to send us on a lovely message on the night.

Since then, we've been closely following any sniff of a rumour on the sequel and we may have stumbled onto the supposed title.

Marvel head-honcho Kevin Feige was recently quizzed about the status of the project during interviews for Ant-Man is said to have let slip the title.

It's... (drum-roll) Guardians of the Galaxy, Volume 2.

Yeah, not much there in terms of what the plot is about. It does tie in nicely with the mix-tape that was a feature in the first one, so we're guessing that's the reason behind it.

We do know, however, that James Gunn told Chris Pratt the plot and it made him all kinds of weepy.

Essentially, the second film is going to focus on the relationship between Chris Pratt's character, Star-Lord, and his father - who remains, as of writing, unknown.

Guardians of the Galaxy, Volume 2 is set for release on May 5th, 2017.
