After four months, the Light House in Smithfield and Pálás in Galway are reopening from July 27th.
Although other cinemas reopened on June 29th, the Light House and Pálás remained closed to the public for nearly a month to facilitate new safety measures and government guidelines on social distancing.
In a press release sent to media today, both cinemas announced screenings of upcoming indie comedy 'Saint Frances', as well as 40th anniversary screenings of 'The Empire Strikes Back', not to mention a season of Ennio Morricone-scored movies such as 'Once Upon A Time In The West' and 'The Mission', screenings of 'Clueless', 'Mean Girls', 'Roman Holiday' and 'Casablanca'.
As well as this, special Q&A screenings are planned for 'Vivarium' and 'Sea Fever', with directors Lorcan Finnegan and Neasa Hardiman respectively, as well as screenings of 'Dating Amber' with actors Fionn O'Shea and Lola Petticrew.
"It has been a very long four months for lovers of cinema. For me, nothing can beat a trip to the cinema, and I’m so excited to finally be able to share a cinema experience again when we open our doors on July 27th," said Light House / Pálás programmer Charlene Lydon.
