If you watched 'John Wick', 'John Wick: Chapter 2' or 'John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum', you'll know that director Chad Stahelski knows how to cut and film a car chase or two.

In fact, one would go so far as to say that the brief interludes set inside cars or motorbikes are more assiduously (look it up) directed and staged than anything in the 'Fast and Furious' franchise. To that end, the idea of him directing a car-focused action movie is just sweet, sweet music to our ears.

Deadline reports that Chad Stahelski is now working on an original, car-focused action movie with the writers of 'Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol' and the upcoming adaptation of Tom Clancy's 'Without Remorse' penning the screenplay. Plot details are very thin on the ground at the moment, and no cast or release date has been announced, so it'll be some time before this begins to form up.

That said, it's a director who's in high demand and it's an original concept that isn't based on a comic book, novel or existing IP - so that alone is worth shouting about. As mentioned, Chad Stahelski is best known for helping to shape the 'John Wick' franchise into what it is today, with 'John Wick: Chapter 4' still on the horizon. Not only that, the long-awaited 'Highlander' reboot is still on the horizon, not to mention his work on 'Birds of Prey' as a second-unit director.

If you want an idea of how good an action director he is when it comes to car chases and the like, here's a quick snifter from 'John Wick: Chapter 2'. Now imagine this for two hours.
