At some point, we're all going to need a moment to fathom the reality that a live-action Detective Pikachu film is on the way and that a serious studio is behind it.
More to the point, the film is drafting in real talent to get it made. We already mentioned that Guardians of the Galaxy scribe Nicole Perlman is taking on the screenplay and now THR confirms that Goosebumps director Rob Letterman will be bringing the world's most recognisable Pokemon to life on the big screen.
There's still no official word on what the plot is, other than the fact that it's about a crime-solving Pikachu who's even got a hat and a pipe ala Sherlock Holmes, but that seems to be enough to get a film greenlit and into production these days.
There's been no word yet on the cast, but our money is on Danny DeVito to voice Detective Pikachu because this video is too much.
