The first look of Timothée Chalamet in the 'Dune' remake landed online this weekend. Now more stills from the sci fi remake have arrived.

The upcoming feature is directed by Denis Villeneuve, who previously helmed 'Arrival' and 'Blade Runner 2049'. Aside from an impressive director, the new 'Dune' packs quite a cast too.

Chalamet plays Paul Atreides, one of the central characters in the story and series as a whole. Oscar Isaac will play his father, Duke Leto Atreides.

Javier Bardem is said to be playing Skilgar, a native of Arrakis. Rebecca Ferguson plays Lady Jessica, Paul's mother and Duke Leto Atreides' concubine.

Charlotte Rampling has been cast as Reverend Mother Mohiam. Stellan Skarsgard plays Baron Vladimir Harkonnen, the main villain of 'Dune'. Dave Bautista has been cast to play Count Glossu Rabban. Zendaya is Chani, who becomes Paul Atreides' love interest.

Vanity Fair were the first to get their hands on the images, which have subsequently been shared across Instagram and Twitter. F

First looks at Jason Momoa, Josh Brolin and Sharon Duncan-Brewster in character are included.

The story will be told over the course of two new films.

Villeneuve told Vanity Fair: “I would not agree to make this adaptation of the book with one single movie.

“The world is too complex. It’s a world that takes its power in details.”

'Dune' was previously adapted from Frank Herbert’s 1965 novel into a 1984 film directed by David Lynch. It starred Kyle MacLachlan in Chalamet’s role.

Villeneuve says: “The immediately appealing thing about Paul was the fact that, in a story of such detail and scale and world-building, the protagonist is on an anti-hero’s journey of sorts.

“He thinks he’s going to be sort of a young general studying his father and his leadership of a fighting force before he comes of age, hopefully a decade later, or something like that.”

Here's the image Chalamet shared of himself as Paul this weekend.
