Please enjoy every moment of the 'Father of the Bride: Part 3 (ish)'.
Introduced by Reese Witherspoon, and adding Florence Pugh, Alexandra Shipp, Ben Platt, AND Rober De Niro into the mix, it's the sort-of sequel to 'Father of the Bride Part II' from 1995. With the 'Father of the Bride' cast reuniting all these years later, and with some new faces, we kind of wish this was a real movie.
Yes, 25 years after the second instalment of the franchise, the original cast of Steve Martin, Diane Keaton, Kimberly Williams-Paisley, Kieran Culkin, Martin Short, and George Newbern have all joined together once again for a family Zoom call (all organised by Netflix to benefit non-profit charity World Central Kitchen).
Called a "special sequel" by Witherspoon at the top of the video, we get a brief montage rundown of what happened in both movies, before we join the family together for yet another wedding ceremony - but whose it is? We're not spoiling it, so you'll have to watch the video to find out.
This new entry was written and directed by original filmmaker of the films, Nancy Meyers, also known for 'The Holiday' and 'It's Complicated'.
'The Politician' star Ben Platt and 'Midsommar' actress Florence Pugh have all joined the cast as the newborn babies from the sequel, who have all grown up now. 'X-Men Apocalypse' star Alexandra Shipp also joins as a new family member, while Rober De Niro makes an appearance as the narrator of the piece too. It's just the perfect amount of cheesiness and wholesomeness that we've been crying out for these days.
Here's the full performance for you.
