Disney are (very rapidly) moving through their children's classics, and everyone's favourite alien will now be getting the live-action treatment.
'Lilo & Stitch' is the newest film in a long line of Disney movies that are already in the pipeline at the studio. The Hollywood Reporter broke the news exclusively, with the news that Producers Dan Lin and Jonathan Eirich, who are already busy on remaking 'Aladdin', will be moving onto the Hawaii-meets-space-adventure next.
No further details have been released about the film yet - so we'll have to wait a while until we get confirmation on the cast.
It will be interesting see if the movie will be getting a normal theatrical release, or if it will be an exclusive release on Disney's upcoming streaming site, which is due to launch next year. Walt Disney will be launching their own streaming platform in direct competition with the likes of Netflix, Amazon, and Hulu, and is believed to have much of the company's back catalogue available, along with new original content.
The 'Lilo & Stitch' news comes as Disney's other live-action movies to hit in 2019 include Tim Burton's 'Dumbo', and the Beyonce and Donald Glover's sure-fire hit 'The Lion King'.
