Barry Keoghan, star of 'Dunkirk', 'The Killing of a Sacred Deer' and the upcoming Marvel's 'Eternals', received treatment in hospital after being the victim of an assault in Galway.

According to the Sunday World, Barry Keoghan was found in the early hours of last Sunday with serious facial injuries outside the G Hotel.

The actor was rushed to Galway University Hospital by ambulance.

He was treated for the injuries, which included cuts to his face, and then released.

The young actor has reportedly not made a complaint in relation to the matter.

He'd been spotted earlier in the MP Walsh bar on Dominick Street in Galway city centre, according to reports.

Keoghan also posed for a picture with a local hairdresser.

Per the Sunday World: "He was spotted around town a bit. He said he was down to see a few people he had become friends with when he was abroad.

"It was known he was staying up in the G Hotel, which is one of the poshest hotels in the city. But no one heard anything about any assault or anything and it was obviously kept very quiet."

A Garda spokesperson said: "Gardaí did attend an incident at a hotel in the Wellpark area of Galway City on Sunday August 15, 2021 after 3.30am.

"An ambulance was also called and a man in his 20s was treated for non life-threatening injuries. Enquiries are ongoing. No arrests have been made."

Barry Keoghan is currently the face of the 'Every Moment Counts' TV advertising campaign for Guinness, which "highlights the importance of positive and safe socialising as the doors of pubs reopen".

He stars in 'Eternals' with Angelina Jolie, Salma Hayek, Kit Harington, Richard Madden and more, this November.
