As we near Paddy's Day, world leaders are keen to cash in on all things Irish and Australia is no different.
In an unintentionally hilarious video from Prime Minister Tony Abbott, he calls the Irish "the centre of our evolving nation" before launching into a pretty ill-advised comparison to England and Scotland.
"The English made the laws, the Scots made the money and the Irish made the songs."
And here's fictional comedy character Alan Partridge talking about the Irish.
Frankly, the similarities are uncanny.
