The internet can be a cruel, heartless place, but every now and then it produces something that makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside. This story shows both sides of that divide.

Back in February, a 4chan user posted a picture of this man (above), that they said was dancing next to them and their friends and showing off his moves. They started laughing at him and ridiculing him, at which point he stopped. The original post read "spotted this specimen trying to dance the other week. He stopped when he saw us laughing".

The image then appeared on reddit, posted by user FrozenBadger, who stated "I find this behavior fucking despicable. If you're out there big man, fuck those kids. Keep dancing". That's when it came to the attention of writer with The Free Thought Project Cassandra Fairbanks, who decided that she was going to try and do something great for him.

The hashtag #finddancingman started to trend, as a huge group of thousands of women had gotten together to try and organise a party where not only would the mystery dancing man be able to show off his moves without fear, but it would also send a message that no one should be body shamed or fat shamed.

On Friday, the dancing man was indeed found, and it turns out he lives in London. He was pretty happy to hear about the whole plan, and that there are over 2,000 women who want to dance with him, and has accepted Cassandra's invite for the party.

Good job, internet, you redeemed yourself.
