Glenn Close loves us. Glenn freaking Close.

That was just one of the many great things that happened at last night's Erics Awards in The Button Factory in Dublin's Temple Bar. Celebrating all that we loved in entertainment in 2014, our annual awards had votes of over 100,000 people voting in categories including Best Irish Festival, Man & Woman of the Year, Best Irish TV Moment and many, many more.

There were fantastic sets from State Lights, Daithí, The Riptide Movement and Le Galaxie who all tore the roof off the place, and in between we handed out the awards for our most hotly contested categories. Chris and Ciara from 2FM walked away with Best Irish Radio Show, while Xposé's Peter O'Riordan took the gong for Best Newcomer. Irish Tweeter of the Year went to the always entertaining Martyn Rosney (who you all should really be following), who did what any honourable Twitter user would do and celebrated his win with a selfie.

And we couldn't not mention one of the biggest moments from the night which was when Guardians of the Galaxy was named Ireland's Favourite Film and not only did we hear from movie's director James Gunn directly about his the joy at receiving the award, but when he retweeted the announcement, Glenn Close did too. Yes, the Glenn Close. Not to blow our own trumpets, but we're pretty stoked.

We also gave out some terrific prizes, including tickets to Foo Fighters and Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds, a Windows Tablet and a Nokia Lumia 930, to the best tweeters from the night, one of which was this stellar photo from the middle of The Riptide Movement's set.

You can check out the full list of winners and photos from the night below, and we'll see you all again when we do it in 2016. Now excuse us while we drink all the coffee and eat all the fried breakfast food in the world.
