Hackers on popular image-based messaging board 4chan have claimed responsibility for a recent hack of third-party Snapchat website, Snapsaved.

The hackers claim that they've stolen approximately 200,000 photos from Snapsaved's server and will publish these photos tomorrow.

Snapchat have issued a statement, saying that their own servers were not breached and that users are prohibited from using third-party apps and websites because they cannot guarantee security.

The statement continues, "Snapchatters were victimized by their use of third-party apps to send and receive snaps, a practice we expressly prohibit in our Terms of Use."

Meanwhile, images from what's been dubbed as 'The Snappening' are appearing online and more are expected tomorrow.
