As we reported a couple of weeks ago, the next entry in the Call of Duty franchise is going right back to its World War II, fascist-killing roots.
The aptly-titled Call of Duty: World War II is being developed by Sledgehammer Games, which was involved in previous entries Advanced Warfare in 2014 and Modern Warfare 3 in 2011. As mentioned, World War II is a familiar setting for the Call of Duty franchise. Four of the entries in the franchise, including the critically-acclaimed World At War, were set during World War II.
It's been speculated that the decision to move back to World War II was prompted, or at least influenced, by the lacklustre sales of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare - something that Activision openly admitted to in February of this year when it said that the game came in below sales expectations.
Right, that's enough filler. Here's the trailer. Let us know what you think of it in the comments!
