Tiger Woods Golf is simulated golf, and it has been for some time now. So, the problem for the developers is: how do you improve on something that is at what seems to be its best? Another big worry, I would imagine, is the fear that if they tinker with it too much, they run the risk of making an arse of it.

So that probably explains why this year's, like last year's, Tiger Woods hasn't really changed too much. Sure the lay out is different and the graphics have been tweaked, though you would need a degree in CGI to know it.

Among the few changes is a skills test that helps determine your ability before you start. This same system is also available with Madden 09, which frankly was more miss than hit, but works well here.

Apart from that and a few minor changes to the online mode this is essentially the same game as it's predecessors and is not to be balked at.
