Nobody's really sure why The Sims was such an endlessly addictive game - but there's no doubt whatsoever that it was.
By far the most successful game in the entire Sims franchise, it's sold close to 200 million copies so far and is considered to be one of the most critically and commercially successful franchises in gaming history. Therefore, it should come as no surprise to anyone that it's finally getting a mobile version.
The Sims Mobile is currently in development with no confirmed release date as of yet, but going by EA's press site, it looks like it'll have all the features you'd expect from the game in a mobile - build a home, customise your Sim, play with other Sims, have affairs, illegitimate children and anything else you can think up in your twisted soap opera fantasy.
The game is expected to launch simultaneously on both Android and iOS, but there's no word on multiplayer or the like just yet.
Here's the first trailer.
