If you played 'The Last of Us', you'll probably have a good idea of just how intense and upsetting the game could be.
It wasn't that it was particularly violent, it was more a case of it having such an emotional story. While details have been light on the planned follow-up, the game finally now has a set release date of February 21st, 2020 with a new teaser to go along with it.
Take a look.
In a blog post on Sony's Playstation site, Naughty Dog director Neil Druckmann talked about the process in making the game, and how it took nearly five years to get there.
"What we realized pretty early on is that we were putting together Naughty Dog’s most ambitious and longest game in our 35-year history," Druckmann explained. "To tell this kind of story the game needed to be massive."
As well as this, the special editions for 'The Last of Us Part II' were also announced, with the "Ellie Edition" coming with a full-size recreation of Ellie's backpack, a vinyl of the game's soundtrack, and an embroidered patch, while the "Collector's Edition" has a life-sized replica of Ellie’s bracelet and a small statue of Ellie, as well as steelbook casing and all sorts of other stuff.
Meanwhile, tomorrow will see the embargo go up on first plays of the game so expect to see a lot of footage doing the rounds in the coming days.
'The Last of Us, Part II' arrives on February 21st, 2020.
