Two sports games were released as launch titles with Kinect. One of them makes great use of Kinect to deliver a standout sports title. This, unfortunately, is the other one.

Five minutes into the Motion Sports mini-game boxing mini-game the over enthusiastic American commentator roared at me "Oh my God you are freaking amazing". When I covered my ears the game didn't seem to notice; I won the match anyway. The football mini-game wasn't much better. What's the point in taking a penalty when it doesn't matter what way you kick the ball? This isn't a fault of Kinect. Titles like Dance Central have already showed how accurate the device can be.

To be fair the skiing and hang-gliding mini-games are passable enough and the various mini-games support four players. And I can't think of any recent XBox title that's involved riding horse. Then again there's the long loud times, poor graphics and complete lack of feedback from the game as to how to improve.

Avoid.
