GTA 4 returns to the roots of its success by taking the story back to Liberty City. But this is not Liberty City as we know it; this is an all-new, high-definition Liberty City.

Just as GTA 3 blew us away when it arrived on the PS2, the latest installment of the franchise is sure to do the same. Boasting a heap-load of new graphic techniques, this game delivers all of the charm of its predecessors and more, as it moves the series forward. You see, this one seems a little more grown-up, a little more mature. Don't get me wrong, the toilet humour is still firmly in place, and the tongue in cheek radio ads are as clever and filthy as always - but the city seems more real, somehow.

The handling of the cars has been upgraded, which I will admit, threw me at first. It's not as straightforward as before - but once mastered, the driving experience is a dream. Your mobile phone becomes your best friend: use it to arrange meetings, dates or just to go drinking!

Rockstar have outdone themselves, they have created a universe in which you feel privileged to be allowed to play.

Mom, Dad, remember: this is not for little Suzie or Johnny. It is an adult game, with themes not suitable for under-18s!!! No, I mean it!
