Gran Tourismo 5 is finally here. Well, okay - that's not strictly true, but this cracking souped-up demo offers a unique look inside the world's best racing sim.

Okay, so first off, it should be explained that this is not the complete game. You have access to 6 tracks and 64 cars. There is a challenge mode made up of 'C', 'B', and 'A' classes. Once each class is complete, an 'S' class opens up, allowing even more fun on the race course. Each class is made up of about 10 races; winning races earns you credits, allowing you to buy cars. There's enough to keep you going, and car prices vary from €35k to €2 million, so don't feel that the demo will leave you hanging.

The graphics are stunning: if this is what they are showing on the demo, I am breathless with anticipation as to what the final product will look like.

Offering an online mode, 16 players can compete over the Playstation Network, a feature that I felt warranted the €40 price tag on the demo.

If you can't wait another year for GT5, then prologue is for you. If you don't want to buy the game twice, you'll just have to wait.
