As we reported earlier today, it looked virtually certain that the long-awaited game from Hideo Kojima - 'Death Stranding' - will be released on November 8th, 2019.

After numerous posts online and leaks, the official reveal trailer for the game dropped and confirmed the date, as well as giving the world the first real-look at what the game involves, the action, and the incredible cast lined up for it.

Norman Reedus, Mads Mikkelsen, Oscar-winning director Guillermo del Toro, 'Drive' director Nicolas Winding Refn, 'Blue Is The Warmest Color' star Lea Seydoux, Lindsay Wagner, and 'Once Upon A Time In Hollywood' cast member Margaret Qualley all appear in the game, but it appears as though you control Norman Reedus' character for the most part.

The game appears to be set in a post-apocalyptic future where the world has been attacked by some kind of alien force that's broken apart the nations of the world. All of the imagery ties into Kojima's various tweets and mentions of how 'Death Stranding' is an action game - even though it's not really a standard shoot 'em up game. In short, it's an entirely new genre of game that's never been attempted before, and represents what could be most the most original game of its kind for a generation.

The game arrives on PlayStation 4 later this year, but for now, here's the reveal trailer.
