The 2019 Achill Harp Festival will run from Friday 25th October to Monday 28th October in the beautiful surrounding of Achill Island along the Wild Atlantic Way. The festival is focused on the harp as a significant symbol of Irish culture but also highlights world music, song and dance. There will be concerts and late night festival club, recitals, harp workshops, mixed instrument workshops, masterclasses, dance and song workshops, fun filled family music workshops, talks, walks, exhibitions and archives and much more. The 2019 harp tutors are Catriona McKay (Scotland), Ben Creighton Griffiths (Wales) and Alberto De La Rosa (Mexico) they will be join our Irish tutors Kathleen Loughnane, Elaine Hogan, Síle Denvir, Úna Ní Fhlannagáin and Laoise Kelly to teach harp students of all ages and abilities. A four day-harp making workshop will see participants make and take home their very own 26 string Achill harp. With over 35 events there is something to suit all interests and all ages.
