Formed by Wayne Hussey and Craig Adams (both former Sisters of Mercy) in 1986, The Mission went on to be one of the bands synonymous with the iconic British goth scene of the 80s, releasing ten albums and touring to this day with its two founding members still at the fore.

Early days saw the band touring with The Cult before releasing their debut album, God’s Own Medicine in late 1986.Their second album, Children, charted at No.2 in the UK album chart as the band began moving towards a fuller hard rock sound. Line-up changes and more albums ensued during the 90s as The Mission consolidated a world-wide following before calling it a day at the end of the decade.

The band celebrated its 25th anniversary by reforming and touring, culminating in a show at Brixton Academy that was filmed and turned into a live documentary (along with a show in Cologne) titled Silver. Since then The Mission have released two more albums; The Brightest Light (2013) and Another Fall from Grace (2016) while remaining one of the most popular touring bands from the era. Special guests for both Irish shows are The Nilz.
