Casey Lowry's debut EP Beach Blue, released at the tail-end of last year, spins tropical electronic sounds with the sing-a-long vibes of guitar guys like Ed Sheeran and George Ezra with a dizzying and fun effectiveness. ‘Blank Face’ is one of its highlights: a song Casey wrote about a French girl he was seeing who never understood his British sentence of humour. “You didn’t get me, or my English,” he sings, dipping into French before unveiling the songs catchy chorus breakdown.
