ballet project[d] presents two new and original works choreographed by Lauren Speirs at Smock Alley Theater October 24th – 26th. “I hate to hear you talk about all women as if they were fine ladies instead of rational creatures. None of us want to be in calm waters all our lives” – Jane Austen, Persuasion. An abstract look at how our world shapes us. An exploration of the grey area between negative and positive persuasion. Rational Creatures and Ensnared (Choreography collaboration with Fiona Kania) feature six professional female ballet dancers and music by Sergei Rachmaninoff, Zoe Keating, and Max Richter. Rational Creatures explores the topic from a more classical, storytelling point of view while Ensnared examines persuasion from a more abstract, contemporary vantage.” Suitable for ages 3+ | Daily shows at 7.30pm. Matinee Sat 26th Oct 2:30pm.
